Prosthetics and Rehabilitation Institutions Plan to Merge

A draft resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic concerning the reorganization of several state institutions operating in the social sphere has been put forward for public discussion. This draft is available on the "Koom Talkuu" platform.

According to the document, it is proposed to merge the Republican Institution for Prosthetic and Orthopedic Products and the Rehabilitation Center for People with Disabilities, which operate under the Ministry of Labor, Social Security, and Migration of the Kyrgyz Republic. As a result of the merger, a new institution will be created — the Republican Institution for Prosthetic and Orthopedic Products and Restorative Rehabilitation for Persons with Disabilities.

As stated in the justification note, the main goal of this initiative is to optimize and simplify the system of public administration, as well as to eliminate duplicative administrative functions and reduce excessive procedures. As a result of the reorganization, it is planned to reduce a number of administrative and service positions, while specialized professionals will remain in their places.

The new institution will have 201.5 staff positions. After optimization, the total payroll fund will be reduced by almost 33 thousand soms per month. At the same time, the project does not foresee additional expenses from the republican budget.
