Donald Trump Ready to Sell Venezuelan Oil to Russia and China
The U.S. President also explained why his country took control of oil production in Venezuela: “If we hadn’t done this, China and Russia would already be there.”
In his posts on the social network Truth Social, Trump previously announced plans to invest at least $100 billion in the Venezuelan oil sector. The investments are planned to be made through American companies, and the U.S. government will negotiate with the authorities of Venezuela.
After the overthrow of Nicolás Maduro, the ruler of Venezuela, Trump noted that in fact, the management of the country will now be carried out from Washington. He added that the interim authorities of Venezuela intend to transfer up to 50 million barrels of oil to the U.S., which is equivalent to a market value of about $2.8 billion.
Furthermore, Donald Trump promised to “personally oversee” the process of oil sales to “ensure that the revenues are directed for the benefit of the peoples of Venezuela and the U.S.”
