The Minister of Construction inspected the construction of wastewater treatment facilities in Cholpon-Ata
This project is being implemented as part of the program "Ecological Management of Lake Issyk-Kul and Sustainable Tourism Development."
According to the Ministry of Construction, Oruntaev familiarized himself with the key construction elements and pumping stations, emphasizing the importance of adhering to schedules and maintaining high quality in the work being performed.
At this stage of the project, reinforcement work is being carried out for the new sewage treatment station, which is expected to have a capacity of 14,200 cubic meters per day. All earthworks for the 12 pumping stations have already been completed, and the project is moving to the next phase.
Upon completion of the construction, the centralized sewage system will be connected 100% to the city of Cholpon-Ata, as well as the villages of Bosteri, Baktyu-Dolonotu, and Kara-Oy, including all boarding houses and guest houses located in these areas. Currently, only 30-40% of Cholpon-Ata's residents have access to the sewage system.
The work is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2027.
The construction began in July 2025 and is being carried out by the companies China Road and "Alkatash."
