Media: Trump Did Not Support Machado Because She Did Not Give Him the Nobel Peace Prize

Donald Trump refused to support Maria Corina Machado, the leader of the Venezuelan opposition, because she did not agree to concede her Nobel Peace Prize to him. This was reported by The Washington Post, citing sources close to the U.S. president's administration.

One of the sources noted that although Machado dedicated her award to Trump, her decision to accept the prize became "the greatest sin." "If she had said, 'I cannot accept this award because it belongs to Donald Trump,' she could already be the president of Venezuela," he added.

During a press conference dedicated to the attack on Venezuela and the overthrow of Nicolas Maduro, Trump noted that it would be difficult for Machado to take the position of the country's leader. He described her as "a nice woman," but according to him, she has "no support and respect" in Venezuela. These comments from Trump came as a surprise to Machado's supporters.
