On the night of January 5 to 6, a theft occurred in the Orthodox church in the village of Ak-Suu (Teploklyuchenka) in the Issyk-Kul region. Unknown individuals stole gold and silver items, money from cash registers and donation boxes, as well as gifts intended for children. This became known thanks to reports from social media users who visited the church.

The Internal Affairs Department of the Issyk-Kul region confirmed that a report of the crime was received on January 6. During the inspection of the crime scene, police officers discovered a broken lock, smashed donation boxes, and signs of arson. Inside the church, a New Year’s tree had been burned, oil was spilled on the floor, and church property was damaged. The criminals also destroyed surveillance cameras and cut the wires.

According to preliminary data, ten New Year gift sets, two silver chains, five to six silver rings, 12-15 crosses, and a Wi-Fi router were stolen from the church shop. Additionally, money disappeared from the cash registers and donation boxes. Furthermore, two cars parked near the church were also damaged: their windows were broken, and personal belongings were stolen.

According to the churchgoers, despite the attempted arson, the building, which is entirely wooden, miraculously remained unharmed.
According to police data, a similar crime was committed at the local mosque, where the perpetrators broke into two donation boxes and stole the money inside.

A criminal case has been initiated on this matter under the article "Theft." With the help of surveillance cameras, the identities of the suspects were established, who turned out to be 22-year-old previously convicted V.A. and 15-year-old N.A., both residents of the village of Ak-Suu. They are currently in a temporary detention facility, and investigative activities are ongoing.
