Life in the Regions: Ulakchi Ishembek Uulu Erbolot Dreams of the World Nomad Games and a Trip to Mecca

Ishenbek uulu Erbolot, born in 2005 in the village of Kuiruchuk in the Jumgal district of the Naryn region, became interested in horseback riding at an early age. Today, he actively participates in the game of ulak and achieves significant success.

Erbolot continues to live in his native village, where he works as a driver in the coal mine of Kara-Keche. After finishing high school, he received a profession at the vocational college No. 5 in Bishkek.

In an interview with a Turmush correspondent, he shared that his older brothers are also ulak players. Since childhood, he has followed their games and drawn inspiration from well-known ulakchy such as Rustam Tynaliev and Manas Niyazov. Erbolot had his first experience with horseback riding at the age of 3-4 years, and he started playing ulak at 10-11 years old.

“I learned by watching my brothers and experienced players, trained a lot, and gained experience,” he said.

Among his achievements are the opportunities to travel, make new friends, and play for strong teams. One of his most vivid memories was participating in a game with his brothers, where he was able to make a significant contribution to the team's success and received praise from his relatives.

“We also received cash prizes. In 2021, at a competition in Naryn, we managed to win a car and many other awards,” he added.

In his free time, Erbolot focuses on training horses and preparing for ulak games, as well as engaging in sports.

“My main goal for the future is to take my parents to Mecca and to join the national team of Kyrgyzstan to participate in the World Nomad Games. I am ready to work hard to achieve these goals,” he concluded.
