Employees of the Louvre stole about 10 million euros from the museum
According to the Paris prosecutor's office, the investigation began in December 2024 when two tour guides from China were suspected of using the same single-use ticket for multiple groups of tourists at the Louvre. The investigation established that these guides repeatedly used the same tickets and also divided groups into smaller ones to avoid additional costs for guided tours, which range from 20 to 90 euros depending on the number of participants.
