Key participants in the negotiations from the USA will be the president's special envoy Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, the son-in-law of Donald Trump. This was reported by Reuters, citing its sources.
Before the start of the meetings aimed at resolving the conflict between Russia and Ukraine, Witkoff and Kushner will also hold talks with representatives from Iran, which will include diplomats from Oman.
This meeting in Geneva will be the first for the trilateral negotiations in this city and the third overall since the dialogue began. According to information, Russia will be represented by a delegation of more than 15 people.
Ukrainian President's advisor on communications Dmitry Litvin confirmed that the negotiations will indeed take place from February 17 to 18 in Geneva.
The Ukrainian delegation will include high-ranking officials, including Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council Rustem Umerov, head of the president's office Kirill Budanov, head of the "Servant of the People" faction David Arakhamia, Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Andriy Hnatov, as well as the first deputy head of the president's office and deputy foreign minister Serhiy Kyslytsia and deputy head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense Vadym Skibitsky.
In the previous two rounds of negotiations held in the United Arab Emirates, the Russian delegation was led by Igor Kostyukov, head of the GRU. Vladimir Medinsky also participated in negotiations with Ukraine, including in 2022, when he led the team at the previous meetings.
