Memorial Events Held in Kochkor District in Honor of the 37th Anniversary of the Withdrawal of Troops from Afghanistan
The series of events began at the memorial to internationalist soldiers, where participants laid flowers and held a memorial prayer. The celebration then continued at the "Cholpon" cinema, where veterans were greeted by representatives of the district administration and the military commissariat. In gratitude for their service, honorary awards were presented, and a concert featuring artists from the district House of Culture took place.
One of the key moments was a visit to the district museum, where veterans familiarized themselves with a unique exhibition dedicated to the events in Afghanistan, including archival photographs and documents from that time.
From 1979 to 1989, 70 people from the Kochkor district were sent to fulfill their international duty, of which 20 were conscripted from other places. This war left an indelible mark on the history of the region.
Unfortunately, four young soldiers did not return from the battlefields: Arstanbek Asanov, Zarylbek Berdaliev, Sherimbek Ibraev, and Tynarbek Soltonkulov.
Many veterans passed away during peacetime, suffering from the consequences of injuries and illnesses.
Today, 24 veterans of the Afghan war remain registered at the military commissariat of the Kochkor district.
