In Russia, starting from April 2026, the import of cars from the EAEU will become more expensive due to a new formula for the recycling fee.
According to the agency "Autostat," in 2025, Kyrgyzstan ranked first among EAEU countries in the number of new passenger cars imported into Russia, totaling 53,600 units. Belarus came in second with 17,100 cars, while Kazakhstan rounded out the top three with 11,000. Only 344 new cars were imported from Armenia during the same period. According to the new project, a unified formula will be applied for cars imported from EAEU countries, similar to that used for direct imports.
