On the eastern slope of the Umm-Irak plateau, there is a rock overhang over 100 meters long, featuring various scenes—from hunting to people with weapons, as well as symbols and inscriptions in Arabic and Nabataean languages. These images are dated to both prehistoric times (approximately 10,000 to 5,500 years ago) and later periods.
Experts emphasize that this discovery provides "new information about the civilizations that succeeded one another in Sinai." According to archaeologists, the Umm-Irak plateau has been used for thousands of years as a lookout point, as well as a gathering and resting place for people from various eras.
