In Suusamyr, the bodies of 20 sheep have been retrieved from under an avalanche, the search for the shepherd has been temporarily suspended.

In the Suusamyr Valley, the search for the missing shepherd has concluded; the bodies of 20 sheep were found under the avalanche.

According to the press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, search and rescue operations at the Boroonduu pasture in the Chui region have been halted due to the onset of night.

The operation involved 55 people, who discovered 20 sheep under the snow mass during their work. So far, a total of 30 heads have been found from the overall flock.

Rescuers have stayed overnight in the shepherds' house, located 5 kilometers from the avalanche site. Local residents who participated in the search have returned home. The operation will resume tomorrow, February 15.

Turmush previously reported that the incident occurred on February 12, when a 59-year-old man, while on horseback, was herding about 50 sheep and was caught under the avalanche.

Search efforts have been ongoing since the signal about the incident was received. The situation is personally overseen by the Minister of Emergency Situations, Lieutenant General Boobek Azhikeev.
