Sadyr Japarov, the President of Kyrgyzstan, initiated significant changes in the national security system, leading to the resignation of Kamchybek Tashiev, who had held the position of head of the State Committee for National Security since 2020. The head of state emphasized the need to strengthen unity in the country and prevent division in society, which was the reason for his decision. Alongside this, almost all of Tashiev's deputies were also relieved of their duties.
The acting head of the special services has been appointed Jumgalbek Shabdanbekov. His deputies are Rustam Mamasadikov, Alisher Erbaev (director of the Anti-Terrorism Center), and Uranbek Shadybekov (director of the Cybersecurity Center).
Key divisions have also been separated from the State Committee for National Security: the border service now operates as an independent agency under the leadership of Abdikarim Alimbaev. Additionally, a State Guard Service has been established based on the 9th department of the State Committee for National Security, which reports directly to the president and is headed by Syrgak Berdikozhoev.
The new Secretary of the Security Council is Adilet Orozbekov.
