Safflower Oil Production Launched in Sokuluk District

The cake obtained in the processing process will be used for feeding livestock

The production of safflower oil has been launched by the Kyrgyz State Breeding Plant located in the Sokuluk district. This project aims to develop processing and the use of cake in animal husbandry.

The start of production was made possible thanks to funding for the purchase of necessary equipment from the Sokuluk District Development Fund. Now the farm carries out a full production cycle — from growing safflower to obtaining finished vegetable oil.

Experts note that the average yield of safflower is about one ton per hectare, and with compliance with all agronomic standards, it can reach up to five tons. The oil yield is 40%, making the cultivation of this crop financially profitable.

In the lower part of the Sokuluk district, there are about 50 thousand hectares of land suitable for sowing, a significant part of which consists of rain-fed lands. Safflower is considered a more profitable alternative to traditional cereal crops.

In the future, it is planned to increase the sown areas, attract farmers and dehkan farms, as well as develop processing with the aim of producing finished products.
