In Russia, the possibility of introducing criminal liability for citizens who do not notify the embassy about their foreign citizenship or residence permit (RP) is being considered. The corresponding draft law has been posted on the regulatory acts portal. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation has proposed a bill that requires Russians living abroad to report the acquisition of foreign citizenship or RP within 60 days of obtaining the new status.
