Requirements for the State Language for Civil Servants in Kyrgyzstan Have Been Tightened
Changes have been made to the Cabinet of Ministers' decree
In Kyrgyzstan, the requirements for knowledge of the Kyrgyz language for civil servants have become stricter. The Cabinet of Ministers has updated decree No. 189 from April 4, 2022, which contains standard qualification requirements for state and municipal employees.
Now, for certain categories of administrative positions, proficiency in the state language at a level established by government regulations has become mandatory. The requirement to know the official language to the extent necessary for performing official duties remains in place.
The initiators of the changes emphasized that this decision is aimed at strengthening the role of the state language in the field of public administration and improving the quality of work of the administrative apparatus.
