In Kazakhstan, the position of vice president will be introduced
During the V session of the National Kurultai in Kyzylorda, the President of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, announced the introduction of a new position — Vice President. This was reported by local media.
The president will appoint the vice president, and the provisions regarding his powers will be enshrined in the Constitution.
“The duties of the vice president will be determined by the president himself. It is expected that he will represent Kazakhstan at international forums and in negotiations with foreign delegations on behalf of the head of state, as well as represent the president's interests in parliament. The vice president will also interact with various socio-political, scientific, and cultural organizations in the country and carry out other tasks assigned by the president,” noted Tokayev.
In addition, in connection with the introduction of the new position, the position of state advisor, currently held by Erlan Karin, will be abolished, and some administrative structures supporting the work of the current parliament will also be dissolved.
