A public figure, who is one of the initiators of the appeal to the authorities, points out the necessity of holding presidential elections to avoid provocations and disputes in society. On February 9, a group of 75 former prime ministers, politicians, and public figures sent an appeal to President Sadyr Japarov and Speaker of the Jogorku Kenesh Nurlanbek Turgunbek with a call to hold early elections.
Some of the signatories later reported that they joined this appeal without familiarizing themselves with its content. The president's press secretary Askat Alagozov characterized this appeal as an attempt to "create a negative atmosphere in society," including among high-ranking officials.
Alagozov also added that when President Japarov spoke about preventing a split after the dismissal of Kamchybek Tashiev, he meant not only the former head of the State Committee for National Security but also people like Bekbolot Talgarbekov and Emilbek Uzakbaev, among others.
