In three years, the budget of Kyrgyz cinema has nearly tripled – statistics


Marat Tagaev, Deputy Minister of Culture, Information, Sports, and Youth Policy of the Kyrgyz Republic, presented statistics on funding and production in the film industry during his speech at the Jogorku Kenesh.
According to him, there has been a noticeable increase in state support for cinema over the past three years:

  • 2023: 354 million soms;

  • 2024: 377 million soms;

  • 2025: 1 billion 20 million soms;

  • 2026: 988 million soms (allocated funds).



In 2023, the following were released:

  • 3 feature films: "Ayan," "Nazik," "Ortomchu";

  • 3 feature documentaries: "Baiyrky Kyrgyz Yazulary," "Manaschylik - Ulyktuu Narktyl," "Baiyrky Yazuu Madaniyaty";

  • 2 short fiction films: "Bulak," "Sokur Ümüt";

  • 17 short documentary films;

  • 1 animated film: "Amantai Menen Aituyak";

  • Series from the "Kyrgyzserial" studio: "Jalbyz," "Chochun Kishi," "Muras," "Chypalak Bala," "Jalbyz-3." Additionally, various video clips were created.



In 2024, the following were in production:

  • 2 feature films: "Kara, Kyzyl, Sary" and "Ortomchu";

  • 7 feature documentaries;

  • 1 short fiction film;

  • 24 short documentary films;

  • 2 animated films;

  • 7 series from the "Kyrgyzserial" studio.



In 2025, 5 feature films, 6 feature documentaries, 21 short films, 3 short fiction films, and 2 animated films were produced.
