In Kyrgyzstan, they intend to make a feature film "Syngan Kylch" ("Broken Sword")

Today, at a meeting of the Committee of the Jogorku Kenesh on Science and Culture, the Deputy Minister of Culture, Information, Sports, and Youth Policy Marat Tagaev announced plans to create a feature film titled "Syngan Kyluch" ("Broken Sword"). He emphasized the importance of producing major national films that align with the country's ideology in response to the remarks made by the deputies.

According to Tagaev, this is indeed a relevant topic, and work on such projects is already underway. He reminded that the last large-scale film, "Kurmandjan Datka," was released ten years ago, and since then, there have been no new significant films. However, there are plans to develop a feature-length film based on the works of Tologon Kasymbekov. Currently, the budget is being approved, and the script will be written by playwright Sultan Raev. It is expected that filming will begin by the end of 2026 or early 2027, he added.

In addition, this year it is planned to create a documentary film dedicated to the 35th anniversary of Kyrgyzstan's independence. However, as the deputy minister noted, the production of documentary films focused on individual personalities will be significantly reduced. Previously, "Kyrgyzfilm" received requests from government agencies to create such films about anniversaries for those reaching 70-80 years, but this practice will be revised to focus on more significant projects, he concluded.
