The historical novel "Syngan Kylch" is being adapted into a film in Kyrgyzstan

The Deputy Minister of Culture, Information, Sports, and Youth Policy of the Kyrgyz Republic, Marat Tagaev, announced the start of work on the screen adaptation of the famous historical novel "Syngan Kylch," written by Tologon Kasymbekov.
According to Tagaev, the National Council has approved the decision to launch the film production, and it is planned to complete the script and approve the project budget in 2026. The well-known playwright and people's writer Sultan Raev has been chosen as the screenwriter and has already agreed to participate in the project.

The filming of the movie is scheduled for late 2026 or early 2027, with a full production start expected in 2028.
Additionally, Marat Tagaev noted that the state is ready to support directors whose works receive recognition at international festivals. For example, Aktan Arym Kubat, a renowned Kyrgyz director, also plans to adapt the novella "Ajar" by Kasymaly Bayalinov, with filming set to begin in late 2026.

The Ministry of Culture is also working on scripts covering key historical events from 1842 to 1846. In the coming years, it intends to focus on creating high-quality historical films that preserve national heritage and attract audience attention.
