Kursan Asanov, Aaly Karashev, Kurmanbek Dykhanbaev, Emil Uzakbaev, and Bekbolot Talgarkbekov will remain in custody at SIZO-1 until April 10.
Earlier, several public figures and officials appealed to President Sadyr Japarov and Speaker of the Jogorku Kenesh Nurlanbek Turgunbek uulu with a request to promptly organize new presidential elections.
The appeal was signed by 75 people.
Soon after, investigative authorities began summoning the signatories for questioning, and several of them were detained. Pre-trial proceedings are underway under Article 278 of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic, concerning "Organization of Mass Riots."
