At the VI World Nomad Games, both kok-boru and kokpar will be presented, - head of the State Agency for Physical Culture and Sports

From August 31 to September 6, the VI World Nomad Games will take place in Kyrgyzstan, featuring traditional equestrian sports such as kok-boru and kokpar. This was announced at a press conference by the director of the State Agency for Physical Culture and Sports, Kazibek Moldazhiyev.

He emphasized that equestrian competitions have always played a central role in the World Nomad Games, attracting a large number of spectators and interest from international media.

“Following the results of the V World Nomad Games in Kazakhstan, we received many positive reviews; however, there were also questions regarding the formats of the kok-boru and kokpar competitions. In this regard, it was decided to include kokpar in the program of the VI World Nomad Games. All the rules will remain the same, and ultimately both kok-boru and kokpar will participate in the competitions,” Moldazhiyev noted.

He also added that sports should always remain outside the political sphere. “We are focused on promoting ethno-culture and ethno-sport. Kokpar will be represented, and our team has already begun preparations through training camps,” he said.

In addition, Moldazhiyev announced that this time new nominations will be introduced at the VI World Nomad Games: “Great Player in Kok-Boru” and “Great Horse of Kok-Boru.”
