At the VI World Nomad Games, more than 3,000 participants from over 100 countries will be attracted

From August 31 to September 6, the VI World Nomad Games will take place in Kyrgyzstan, with the participation of over 3,000 athletes from more than 100 countries expected. This information was announced by the director of the State Agency for Physical Culture and Sports, Kazybek Moldazhiyev, at a press conference.

Moldazhiyev also provided data on the number of countries and participants in previous Nomad Games. According to him, in 2014, 19 countries participated in the first Games, in 2016 — 62 countries, in 2018 — 82 countries, and in 2022 — 79 countries. In 2024, the participation of 89 countries is expected.

“The growth dynamics of participating countries shows that interest in the World Nomad Games is increasing. In 2014, there were only 771 participants, while in 2024 their number will rise to 2,500,” he noted.

Additionally, Moldazhiyev spoke about the sports disciplines that will be included in the event program. The VI WNG will feature 43 types of national and traditional sports.

“Participation in the World Nomad Games generates immense interest among countries. We have received numerous applications for the addition of new games from peoples around the world,” he added.

The opening ceremony of the VI WNG will take place on August 31 at the under-construction "Bishkek Arena" stadium, which can accommodate 51,000 spectators, and will coincide with the anniversary summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization. The closing of the games is scheduled to take place on the shores of Issyk-Kul.
