The Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic proposed to tighten penalties for drunk driving.
It is also planned to abolish probation for such offenders.
At a meeting of the parliamentary committee, Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Oktobyr Urmambetov announced the intentions of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic to introduce stricter penalties for drivers operating a vehicle under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
As Urmambetov noted, the new rules stipulate that probation will be excluded for those who caused harm or resulted in the death of individuals while driving in an intoxicated state.
In addition, it is planned to increase the term of administrative detention to 20 days.
