The Ministry of Construction commented on the situation surrounding the construction of the "Altai" town.
The ministry reported that before the start of work on the site, necessary engineering and geological surveys were conducted, which complies with current legislative standards. The results of these studies allowed for the determination of the groundwater level, which was taken into account in the design documentation, where special engineering solutions were provided, including a drainage system for the removal of groundwater.
Additionally, the project limits the height of residential buildings to five stories, which is also related to the geological features of the site.
These measures, as noted by ministry specialists, are aimed at ensuring safety both during the construction process and subsequently during the operation of the facilities.
It should be noted that the residential complex "Altai" is classified as low-rise development, and issues of seismic safety were studied by the relevant departments of the Ministry of Construction.
In this regard, additional approval of the project by the Institute of Seismology of the National Academy of Sciences of Kyrgyzstan is not required.
Furthermore, the Ministry of Construction refuted the information voiced by the president of the National Academy of Sciences of the Kyrgyz Republic, Kanat Abdrakhmatov, and urged citizens to rely on official sources, avoiding panic.
It was noted that other large construction projects are currently being implemented in this area, including a new bus station and multi-story residential buildings, as well as the reconstruction of the Osh market. Four- and five-story buildings that were constructed during the Soviet period continue to be in use.
The ministry assured that the construction of the residential town "Altai" is being carried out in accordance with established standards and is under constant control.
