President of the National Academy of Sciences of the Kyrgyz Republic: The construction of the "Altai" town was not coordinated with the Institute of Seismology
Abdrakhmatov expressed surprise that such large-scale construction had not been coordinated with the Institute of Seismology of the National Academy of Sciences of the Kyrgyz Republic under the current president of the country. He noted that the site where construction is planned could be dangerous in terms of seismic activity — in the event of a strong earthquake, hydraulic shocks could occur. For example, during the Kemin earthquake in 1911, a fountain about 8 meters high erupted from the ground and spouted for several hours. In 1970, during the Sarıkamış earthquake, a hydraulic shock ruptured the foundation of a building under construction.
Recently, photos began to appear on social media showing the construction site, where it is evident that the excavated pits are filled with groundwater.
The "Altai" town is being built on an area of 234 hectares. The project plans to construct 1,551 five-story buildings, which will contain 34,004 apartments of various layouts. The total area of the construction will exceed 1 million 7 thousand square meters. The project is being implemented by the construction company "Kut," which offered apartments with no down payment and in installments. In a short period, all 34,000 apartments were sold out. On November 20, President Sadyr Japarov laid the capsule for the construction of this complex.
