In Kyiv, nearly half of the houses are without heat after the Russian attack. Mayor Klitschko urged Kyiv residents to leave the city.

In Kyiv, there are also problems with water supply, noted Klitschko. City services are currently operating under emergency conditions.

According to the mayor, the combined attack by Russian troops on Kyiv on the night of January 9 had the most serious impact on the critical infrastructure of the capital. He urged residents who have the opportunity to temporarily leave the city in search of alternative sources of heat and food.

The Ministry of Energy of Ukraine reported the introduction of emergency power outages on the left bank of Kyiv and in some areas of the region, while scheduled hourly outages are in effect on the right bank. The energy company DTEK added that emergency outages are being carried out throughout the city due to the consequences of the attack and network overloads. A total of 417,000 households in the Desnyansky, Dnipro, Darnytsky, and Holosiivskyi districts are without electricity.

Heating and water are also absent in the building of the Verkhovna Rada, reported deputy Yaroslav Zheleznyak.

On the night of January 9, Russian troops struck Kyiv using drones and missiles. As a result of the attack, four people were killed, and more than 20 were injured. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky reported that the building of the Qatari embassy was damaged during the raid. On the same night, a strike was carried out with a "Himars" missile on the Lviv region, which, according to Ukrainian and Russian sources, targeted one of the largest gas storage facilities in Europe.
