Avalanches and Snow Drifts Expected in Several Passes of Kyrgyzstan

From March 6 to 10, bad weather is forecasted in Kyrgyzstan, creating a risk of avalanches and snow drifts in mountainous areas.

According to meteorologists' forecasts, avalanche-prone conditions may be observed on several highways:

Bishkek — Osh

121–138 km — Töö-Ashuu Pass

198–265 km — Chychkan Gorge and Ala-Bel Pass

Myzrak — Kara-Kulja — Alayku

55–115 km

Ala-Buka — Kanysh-Kiya

45–112 km — Chapchyma Pass

Krasnaya Gorka — Ak-Tash

0–3 km

Bishkek — Naryn — Torugart

292–305 km — Dolon Pass

Balikchy — Kazarman — Jalal-Abad

201–205 km

260–290 km

326–349 km — Kök-Art Pass

Karakol — Enilchek

45–90 km — Chon-Ashuu Pass

On the listed sections of the roads, there is a threat of avalanches, snow drifts, and the formation of ice.

Drivers are strongly advised to exercise caution and maintain a safe distance of at least 500 meters between vehicles.
