Storm Warning Declared in Mountain Regions of Kyrgyzstan: Avalanches Expected

According to information provided by the Hydrometeorological Service, from February 11 to 13, precipitation is expected in the mountainous regions of Kyrgyzstan, which may lead to a high risk of avalanches and snow drifts. This information was published by the Ministry of Emergency Situations.

The most dangerous sections are located on key routes in the country, including:
• Bishkek – Osh: 121–138 kilometers (Tоо-Ashuu Pass), 198–255 kilometers (Chychkan, Ala-Bel);
• Suusamyr – Talas – Taraz: 1–14 kilometers (Otmak Pass);
• Myrzake – Kara-Kuldja – Alayku: 55–115 kilometers;
• Ala-Buka – Kanysh-Kiya: 45–112 kilometers (Chapchyma Pass);
• Krasnaya Gorka – Akhtash: 0–3 kilometers;
• Sary-Tash – Daroot-Korgon – Karamyk: 97–98 kilometers;
• Bishkek – Naryn – Torugart: 292–305 kilometers (Dolon Pass);
• Aral – Min-Kush: 1–14 kilometers;
• Balakchi – Kazarman – Jalal-Abad: 326–349 kilometers (Kok-Art Pass);
• Karakol – Enilchek: 45–90 kilometers (Chon-Ashuu Pass).

On these sections, avalanches, snow drifts, ice, and snow accumulations may occur. Rescuers strongly recommend that drivers maintain a distance of at least 500 meters between vehicles and exercise maximum caution.

The Ministry of Emergency Situations also reminds that in case of any emergencies, one should immediately contact number 112.
