Storm Warning: February 18-22, Avalanche Risks Expected in Mountain Areas

Considering the complex avalanche situation and rising air temperatures, from February 18 to 22, snow avalanches are forecasted in the mountainous areas of Kyrgyzstan, as well as snow drifts, snow cover, and ice slicks.

According to Kyrgyz Hydrometeorology, avalanches may occur on the following sections of roads:

- between 121 and 138 km of the Bishkek—Osh road (Töö-Ashuu pass) and on the section from 198 to 265 km (Ala-Bel pass, Chychkan gorge);

- from 45 to 112 km of the Ala-Buka—Kanysh-Kiya road (Chapchyma pass);

- on 0-3 km of the Krasnaya Gorka—Ak-Tash road;

- between 55 and 115 km of the Myrza-Ake—Kara-Kulja—Alaikuu road;

- on 97-98 km of the Sary-Tash—Daroot-Korgon—Karamyk road;

- between 292 and 305 km of the Bishkek—Naryn—Torugart road (Dolon pass);

- on 1-14 km of the Aral—Min-Kush road;

- on the section from 8 to 21 km of the Aral—Suusamyr road;

- on 201-205, 260-290, and 326-249 km of the Balikchy—Kazarmin—Jalal-Abad road (Kok-Art pass);

- on 45-90 km of the Karakol—Enilchek road (Chon-Ashuu pass).

When traveling through areas prone to avalanche danger, drivers are advised to maintain a distance of 500 meters between vehicles.
