Storm Warning: February 23-28, Snow Avalanches May Occur in Mountain Areas

According to information from Kyrgyzgidromet, from February 23 to 28, there is a possibility of snow avalanches in the mountainous regions of Kyrgyzstan, as well as heavy snowfall, snow drifts, and ice.

Experts warn of an increased risk of avalanches on the following sections of highways:

- 121-138 km of the Bishkek—Osh highway (Töö-Ashuu pass) and 198-265 km (Ala-Bel pass, Chychkan gorge);

- 45-112 km of the Ala-Buka—Kanysh-Kiya highway (Chapchyma pass);

- 0-3 km of the Krasnaya Gorka—Ak-Tash highway;

- 55-115 km of the Myrza-Ake—Kara-Kulja—Alaikuu highway;

- 97-98 km of the Sary-Tash—Daroot-Korgon—Karamyk highway;

- 292-305 km of the Bishkek—Naryn—Torugart highway (Dolon pass);

- 1-14 km of the Aral—Min-Kush highway;

- 8-21 km of the Aral—Suusamyr highway;

- 201-205, 260-290, and 326-249 km of the Balikchy—Kazarmin—Jalal-Abad highway (Kok-Art pass);

- 45-90 km of the Karakol—Enilchek highway (Chong-Ashuu pass).

Drivers are advised to maintain a necessary distance of 500 meters when passing through potentially dangerous sections of the roads.
