Storm Warning: Avalanches Expected in Mountain Areas from February 14 to 16

According to information received from Kyrgyzhydromet, from February 14 to 16, snow avalanches are expected in the mountainous regions of Kyrgyzstan, as well as snow drifts, ice, and snow cover. 

Specialists warn about the potential avalanche-prone areas on the following roads:

- Bishkek-Osh, section from 121 to 138 km (Töö-Ashuu Pass),

- Bishkek-Osh, section from 198 to 265 km (Ala-Bel Pass, Chychkan Gorge),

- Suusamyr-Talas-Taraz, section from 1 to 14 km (Ötmäk Pass),

- Myrza-Ake-Kara-Kulja-Alayku, section from 55 to 115 km,

- Ala-Buka-Kanysh-Kiya, section from 45 to 112 km (Chapchyma Pass),

- Krasnaya-Gorka-Aktash, section from 0 to 3 km; Sary-Tash-Daroot-Korgon-Karamyk, section from 97 to 98 km,

- Bishkek-Naryn-Torugart, section from 292 to 305 km (Dolon Pass),

- Aral-Ming-Kush, section from 1 to 14 km; Aral-Suusamyr, section from 8 to 21 km,

- Balikchy-Kazarman-Jalal-Abad, section from 326 to 349 km (Kök-Art Pass) and

- Karakol-Enilchek, section from 45 to 90 km (Chon-Ashuu Pass).

When traveling through avalanche-prone sections of the roads, it is important to maintain a distance of at least 500 meters between vehicles.
