Storm Warning: Avalanches and Ice Slicks Expected on Mountain Roads from March 2 to 5

From March 2 to 5, avalanches, snow drifts, ice, and snow cover are expected in the mountainous regions of Kyrgyzstan due to unstable weather conditions.

According to the Kyrgyz Hydrometeorological Service, avalanche-prone areas will be located on the following roads:

- from 121 to 138 km on the Bishkek—Osh highway (Töö-Ashuu pass) and from 198 to 265 km (Ala-Bel pass, Chychkan gorge);

- from 55 to 115 km on the Myrza-Ake—Kara-Kulja—Alaikuu road;

- from 45 to 112 km on the Ala-Buka—Kanysh-Kiya highway (Chapchyma pass);

- from 0 to 3 km on the Krasnaya Gorka—Ak-Tash highway;

- from 292 to 305 km on the Bishkek—Naryn—Torugart road (Dolon pass);

- on sections from 201 to 205, 260 to 290, and 326 to 249 km of the Balykchy—Kazarmin—Jalal-Abad road (Kok-Art pass);

- from 45 to 90 km on the Karakol—Enilchek highway (Chong-Ashuu pass).

When traveling through avalanche-prone areas, it is important to maintain a distance of 500 meters between vehicles.
