Anarkulov is suspected under Articles 41 part 2, 36, and 278 part 1 of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic, concerning the organization and preparation for mass riots. He has been ordered to be held in pre-trial detention until April 10.
It is known that Anarkulov is a close associate of the former head of the State National Security Committee, Kamchybek Tashiev.
On February 9, information appeared on social media and in the media that 75 citizens had appealed to President Sadyr Japarov and Speaker of the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic Nurlanbek Turgunbek uulu, requesting the initiation of new presidential elections in Kyrgyzstan. Among the signatories were scholars, former prime ministers, ex-deputies, and public figures.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs reported that some statements in the appeal caused "widespread discussion among the population and exacerbated the socio-political situation in the country."
On February 11, several key figures were detained as part of this case, including the coordinator of the "People's Parliament," former head of the Prime Minister's Office Bekbolot Talgarebekov, former ambassador of the Kyrgyz Republic to Uzbekistan Emilbek Uzakbaev, former authorized representative of the president of the Kyrgyz Republic in the Jogorku Kenesh Kurmanbek Dyykanbaev, as well as former Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Kursan Asanov and ex-deputy of the Jogorku Kenesh Aaly Karashe.
