During an emergency session dedicated to the protests in Iran, Mike Waltz, the U.S. Special Representative to the UN, noted that President Trump is prepared to consider all options to stop the violence. He emphasized that Trump is a man of action, not just words, as is often the case at the UN. "No one should be more certain of this than the Iranian leadership," Waltz added, as reported by Euronews.

On the eve, Trump spoke about the possibility of de-escalating the situation in Iran, noting that, according to his information, violence in the country is beginning to decrease. By Thursday, there indeed appears to be a reduction in the intensity of the protests; however, issues with internet connectivity persist.

The Deputy Representative of Iran to the UN, Golamhossein Darzi, in turn, criticized the actions of the U.S., claiming that Washington "is directly involved in organizing unrest in Iran and escalating it to violence."

Darzi added: "Under the guise of concern for the Iranian people and statements of support for human rights, the U.S. is trying to position itself as an ally of the Iranian people, while in reality creating conditions for political destabilization and possible military intervention, using the so-called humanitarian narrative."

Eyewitnesses from Tehran report that in recent days, traces of bonfires and garbage have become less noticeable on the streets, and the sounds of gunfire that echoed for several nights have subsided.

According to the human rights group Human Rights Activists, at least 2,677 people have died during the suppression of the protests, surpassing the figures from all previous major anti-government uprisings since the Islamic Revolution of 1979. However, sources in Iran inform Euronews that the actual number of casualties may reach 15,000 over the past 21 days.
