Triumph of Kyrgyz wrestlers in Albania: Ernazar Akmataliev wins gold


In the capital of Albania, Tirana, the second tournament of the current season in sports wrestling - MUHAMET MALO–2026 - has begun. On the first day of the competition, the Kyrgyz team won a gold, silver, and bronze medal.

Ernazar Akmataliev became the gold medalist in the weight category up to 70 kg. His path to victory was not easy:

In the 1/8 finals, he defeated the Russian Ibrahim Ibrahimov with a minimal advantage of 4:3.

In the quarterfinals, the Kyrgyz wrestler confidently won against Vasily Diakon from Moldova with a score of 6:1.

In the semifinals, Ernazar faced the Kazakhstani Maiys Aliyev and ended the match in his favor, winning 12:9.

In the final against Alec Pantaleo from the USA, the fight was tense, but in the last seconds, Akmataliev snatched victory with a score of 3:2 and won the gold medal.

The bronze medal in the same category (up to 70 kg) went to Zalkarbek Tabaldiev. In the 1/8 finals, he faced Rustam Kakhrov, also representing Kyrgyzstan, and won, allowing him to continue fighting for medals.

Additionally, Orozobek Toktomambetov, competing in the weight category up to 74 kg, took second place, losing in the final to the Iranian Yunes Emami with a score of 0:5.

The tournament continues, and the next day of competition will start with preliminary matches at 15:30 Bishkek time.
