In the final match in the under 70 kilograms category, he defeated American Alec William Pontaléo, finishing the bout with a score of 3:2.
Earlier, Akmataliev successfully competed against wrestlers from Russia, Moldova, and Kazakhstan.
Also in this category, his compatriot Zalkarbek Tabaldiev won a bronze medal.
