Students from Kyrgyzstan won 11 medals at the Zhautykov Olympiad in Almaty

At the XXII International Zhautykov Olympiad in Mathematics, Physics, and Computer Science (IZhO 2026), a team of school students from Kyrgyzstan demonstrated excellent results, winning 2 gold, 3 silver, and 6 bronze medals.

According to information provided by the press service of the Ministry of Education, the event took place in Almaty (Kazakhstan) from January 10 to 15.

More than 600 students from 16 countries participated in this prestigious competition, including states such as Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Bulgaria, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Mongolia, Pakistan, Russia, Romania, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Indonesia, India, and Uzbekistan. Kyrgyzstan was represented by 33 participants.

The medals were won by the following students:


Coaches: Mamat Ishmatov and Bekzhol uulu Zholdubai.


Coach: Susarbek Baibaev.


Coaches: Anatoly Ignatiev and Evgeny Kichak.


Coaches: Kylchbek Uraimov and Aidar Munduzbaev.


Coaches: Turgunbek Omurkanov, Andrey Sidorenko, and Altynbek Almurza uulu.

The International Zhautykov Olympiad is a significant event for school students dedicated to mathematics, physics, and computer science, held annually in Kazakhstan. The Olympiad is named after the outstanding Kazakh mathematician Orymbek Zhautykov and has been taking place since 2005, gathering teams from various countries. The competition promotes the development of international ties and the popularization of scientific knowledge, and its winners receive medals and diplomas.
