In the weight category up to 70 kg, Ernazar Akmataliev became the champion of the international tournament MUHAMET MALO-2026, which is taking place in the Albanian city of Tirana.
According to information from the State Agency for Physical Culture and Sports, the athlete began his path to the medal from the 1/8 finals, where he won against Ibrahim Ibrahimov — the current European champion from Russia, with a minimal score of 4:3.
In the quarterfinals, Akmataliev confidently dealt with the Moldovan wrestler Vasily Diakon, winning with a score of 6:1. In the semifinal match, he defeated the Kazakh athlete Mais Aliyev, finishing the bout with a score of 12:9.
In the decisive final match, Ernazar faced the American Alec William Pantaleo, ultimately winning with a score of 3:2 and claiming the gold medal of the tournament.
With this victory, Akmataliev brought the first gold medal for the Kyrgyzstan national team on the international stage.
