Zalkarbek Tabaldiev won the bronze medal at the MUHAMET MALO-2026 tournament in Tirana

The Kyrgyz freestyle wrestler Zalkarbek Tabaldiev won a bronze medal at the international tournament MUHAMET MALO-2026, which is taking place in the Albanian city of Tirana, in the weight category up to 70 kg.
According to the State Agency for Physical Culture and Sports, his performance began in the 1/8 finals, where he confidently defeated his compatriot Rustam Kakharo with a score of 12:1.
Next, in the quarterfinals, Tabaldiev showed excellent results, beating the Bulgarian Kaloyan Atanasov with a score of 14:3, which allowed him to advance to the semifinals.
Unfortunately, in the semifinals, the Kyrgyz athlete suffered a defeat to the American Alec William Pantaleo, finishing the match with a score of 0:10.
In the match for third place, the Mexican wrestler Austin Kli Gomez was unable to take to the mat due to injury, and thus the bronze medal was awarded to Zalkarbek Tabaldiev.
Thus, he became the third athlete from Kyrgyzstan to bring home a medal from this international tournament.
