From February 24 to 28, traffic on eight sections of the Bishkek—Osh highway will be periodically restricted. This is due to the implementation of snow removal operations.

The Emergency Situations Department for the Jalal-Abad region reported that such measures are being taken in areas with a high risk of avalanches.

“Snow mass removal operations are being conducted on the segment from the 198th to the 255th kilometer, which is located in the Jalal-Abad region. Specialized artillery forces from the Ministry of Defense of Kyrgyzstan, as well as employees from the Ministry of Emergency Situations, the hydrometeorological service, the road patrol service, and ambulance services are involved in this process. On the specified dates, the road will be closed from time to time,” the department clarified.

In addition, the Ministry of Emergency Situations warned of the possibility of avalanches on other highways in the mountainous areas of the country, including Bishkek—Osh, Myrzake—Kara-Kulja—Alaikuu, Ala-Buka—Kanysh-Kyia, Krasnaya Gorka—Akhtash, Sary-Tash—Daroot-Korgon—Karamyk, Bishkek—Naryn—Torugart, Aral—Min-Kush, Aral—Suusamyr, Balikchy—Kazaraman—Jalal-Abad, and Karakol—Enilchek.
