The Kyrgyz Republic has launched a phased process for updating indefinite driver’s licenses that were issued earlier.
According to information from "Unaa," a transitional period has been introduced for the convenience of citizens, during which old licenses remain valid within the country. However, after this period ends, these documents will be annulled and must be replaced with new ones.
The reason for the replacement is that the old driver’s licenses do not have a digital version, are not recognized in some countries, and are equipped with insufficient security measures, as well as outdated photographs. This complicates identity verification and creates the potential for abuse. The new licenses meet modern standards and international requirements, have improved security features, and offer a higher level of safety.
To simplify the process of replacing driver’s licenses, the authorities have implemented a number of measures:
* the requirement to provide a medical certificate of form 083 has been canceled;
* it is now possible to replace licenses through the online system "Tündük";
* the process of obtaining the service has been optimized, allowing citizens to avoid haste and additional expenses.
Citizens are advised to take advantage of the proposed simplified conditions in advance and go through the process of replacing licenses in an established manner.
Those whose licenses are not digitized and do not appear in the "Tündük" system will need to personally contact the relevant institutions to replace their documents.
Citizens whose licenses are present in the "Tündük" system are recommended to carry out the replacement in an online format, without visiting offices.
