The deadline after which old driver's licenses will become invalid has been announced

Dayirbek Orunbekov, head of the information policy department of the President's Administration of Kyrgyzstan, commented on the process of replacing old-style driver's licenses.

According to him, the exchange of old licenses is carried out free of charge. Citizens have one month to complete this procedure; however, if someone does not manage to do so, additional time will be provided.
It is important to note that the requirement for a medical certificate of form 083, which was previously mandatory for the exchange of licenses, has been canceled.
As Orunbekov emphasized, the need to replace licenses is due to several factors. Firstly, old documents were often forged, and cases of their falsification continue even outside the country. Many licenses have faded photographs and inscriptions. Secondly, some foreign states do not recognize such licenses.

New driver's licenses are accepted in several countries and are fully digitized, which eliminates the possibility of forgery.
Once the replacement is completed, all old licenses will become invalid.
Citizens whose licenses are not registered in the "Tunduk" system should contact the relevant state institutions. Those who are already registered in the system are given the opportunity to exchange their license in electronic format.
