Orunbekov explained why a replacement for indefinite driver's licenses is needed

Daiyrbek Orunbekov, head of the president's information policy service, shared on social media the reasons why it is necessary to replace indefinite driver's licenses.

He also reminded that currently, the exchange of old licenses is being carried out free of charge.

“A period of one month has been allocated for this. If someone does not manage to do it in time, an additional period is provided,” he added.

To simplify the exchange of driver's licenses, the requirement for a medical certificate in form 083, which was previously mandatory, has also been canceled.

“The reason for the replacement is that counterfeit licenses of the old model were widespread. Currently, we have information about the ongoing production and sale of such documents in Moscow. Additionally, photographs and inscriptions on old licenses are often erased,” he emphasized.

Old driver's licenses are not recognized abroad.

According to Orunbekov, the new licenses have international recognition, allowing their holders to move freely in a number of countries.

“The digitization of the new licenses will eliminate the possibility of counterfeiting them. After the exchange is completed, the old licenses will become invalid,” he noted.

It is important that the exchange is carried out free of charge and without the need to provide additional documents.
