In Bishkek, it is planned to lay over 40,700 km of SIP cable, according to information from the Ministry of Energy of Kyrgyzstan.

The capital's electrical networks are preparing for the upcoming autumn-winter season of 2026–2027. As part of these activities conducted by the Bishkek branch of JSC "NESC," a wide range of work is planned to update the city's electrical grid.

From March to November 2026, the laying and reconstruction of over 40,700 km of SIP cable will take place in Bishkek, covering key sections of the city's electrical networks.

Distribution of work by districts:
▪️ Eastern RES — 4.5 km

▪️ Western RES — 21,420 km

▪️ Northern RES — 19,272 km
Main objectives of the project
As part of this initiative, the following are planned:
• replacement of outdated wires with modern insulated SIP

• updating worn-out power transmission lines

• installation of new supports and reinforcement of existing infrastructure

• connection of new subscribers and development of networks in residential areas

• reduction of load on existing lines

• decrease in technological losses of electricity

The resilience of electrical networks during the winter period will be of particular importance.
The use of SIP cable will allow:
• prevention of snow accumulation and ice formation

• reduction of the risk of short circuits

• ensuring uninterrupted power supply in adverse weather conditions

Expected results
The implementation of the project will lead to:
• improvement of the quality and stability of electricity supply

• significant reduction of accidents in the networks

• decrease in electricity losses during transmission

• ensuring reliable operation of the energy system in the winter period

• creation of conditions for connecting new consumers

The ongoing work will significantly increase the capacity of electrical networks, reduce the level of accidents, decrease electricity losses, and provide more reliable power supply for consumers during the autumn-winter peak load period. The financing of these activities is carried out from the own funds of JSC "NESC."
