According to information provided by the Batken Electric Networks Enterprise, a branch of OJSC "NES of Kyrgyzstan" has started carrying out repair and restoration activities and updating electrical equipment. These actions are being carried out in accordance with the instructions of the Ministry of Energy of Kyrgyzstan and are aimed at ensuring the population with quality and stable electricity supply in anticipation of the autumn-winter season of 2026–2027.
This year, a number of major activities are planned in the Batken region, aimed at improving the technical condition of electrical networks and ensuring consumers with continuous electricity supply.
Regarding transformers 6-10/0.4 kV:
• Major repairs will affect 284 transformers;
• Maintenance will be conducted for 1632 transformers.
As for overhead lines 6-10/0.4 kV:
• 1538 km of overhead lines will undergo major repairs;
• 3847 km of overhead lines will receive maintenance.
Regarding high-voltage overhead lines 220/110/35 kV:
• 1400 km of overhead lines will be surveyed, of which:
— 20 km will be majorly repaired;
— 1380 km will undergo current scheduled repairs;
• The installation of 8772 new glass insulators is planned.
For substations 220/110/35 kV:
• 45 substations are awaiting scheduled current repairs;
• 5 substations will undergo major repairs.
In addition, as part of the power transmission system automation program, the installation of 54,587 smart metering devices (AMR) is planned in the Batken region in 2026. Also, in several settlements, it is planned to lay 32 km of self-supporting insulated wires SIP-2 and SIP-3.
The main goal of the implemented activities is to increase the reliability of electrical networks, reduce technical losses, and ensure quality and uninterrupted electricity supply. These actions are aimed at ensuring a stable passage through the autumn-winter period of 2026–2027 and improving the condition of the electrical networks in the region.
