Today, March 17, the Committee of the Jogorku Kenesh on constitutional legislation, state structure, local self-government, and regulations approved the bill "On Amendments to the Law of the Kyrgyz Republic 'On the Status of a Deputy of the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic'" in the first reading.

The initiator of this bill was Deputy Dastan Bekeshev.

Dastan Bekeshev noted that the main goal of the project is to clarify Article 33 of the law "On the Status of a Deputy of the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic." He emphasized that the changes will help clearly define the types of activities that deputies can engage in alongside their main work, excluding the risks of unlawful deprivation of mandate due to ambiguity in the interpretation of the terms "scientific," "pedagogical," and "creative" activities.

The committee also approved the bills "On State Awards, Honorary Titles, and State Prizes of the Kyrgyz Republic" and "On Amendments to the Law of the Kyrgyz Republic 'On the Guarantees of the Activities of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Status of the Ex-President of the Kyrgyz Republic'" in the third reading.
