The Housing Committee approved amendments to the law that reduce the number of types of state awards.

Today, January 13, the Committee on Constitutional Legislation, State Structure, Local Self-Government, and Regulations of the Jogorku Kenesh approved in the first reading amendments to the law on state awards and honorary titles proposed by the Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers.

Among the proposals is the exclusion of the following awards and titles:

  • the orders "Danaker" and "Erdik" of the III degree;
  • the honorary title "People's Poet of the Kyrgyz Republic";
  • the Honorary Certificate of the Kyrgyz Republic;
  • the honorary titles of the second category "Honored".
It is planned that the powers to establish the Honorary Certificate and the titles "Honored" will be transferred to the Cabinet of Ministers.

During the discussion, Deputy Gulnara Akimbaeva emphasized the need to preserve the honorary title "People's Poet of the Kyrgyz Republic".

Deputy Marlen Mamataliev expressed the opinion that the proposed changes could negatively affect the status of the title "Honored", stressing that the exclusion of the title "People's Poet of the Kyrgyz Republic" would be unacceptable.

Deputy Janarbek Akayev agreed with him, noting that the absence of the title "People's Poet of the Kyrgyz Republic" creates uncertainty in the awarding of the title "People's Writer of the Kyrgyz Republic".

Committee Chairman Kurmankul Zulyshev emphasized the importance of a unified approach to this issue, suggesting not to limit the exclusions but to completely review the existing system of state awards and create it anew.
