At a meeting of the relevant committee of the Jogorku Kenesh, Deputy Gulsharakan Kultaeva criticized the practice of involving well-known bloggers in state cultural events. She urged the Ministry of Culture to place more emphasis on professional ethics in this area.
“The film industry requires a high level of culture. It is wrong to invite only popular bloggers from social media just because sponsors allocate funds for this. We must put a stop to such phenomena,” she noted.
The Deputy Minister of Culture, Information, and Youth Policy of the Kyrgyz Republic, Marat Tagaev, stated that there are plans to revise the format of key cultural events.
In particular, this concerns the Bishkek International Film Festival, which will take place in 2026 in its fourth edition.
“As you rightly pointed out, we will invite those who have truly contributed to cinema and will take previous mistakes into account. We plan to limit irresponsible and frivolous manifestations aimed at hype and show,” he added.
